Scotframe, established in the North East of Scotland in 1989 have long been regarded as one of the leaders in the timber frame industry for over 20 years and continue to set the benchmarks their competitors strive to achieve.

Presentation title: Timber Frame Taking The Lead – Where Experience Counts
Mike Cruickshank is the Sales Director for Scotframe Timber Engineering Ltd.
His presentation will demonstrate how timber frame manufacturing and the new generation of MMC and future proofed technology is now leading the way in the UK building industry. Building regulations and CO2 emissions targets coming in to place between 2010 and 2016 mean new technologies and techniques are being adopted to meet ever demanding regulations and standards.
As more pressure is put on the construction industry to deliver excellent environmental performance, there will be a greater reliance put on solutions like timber frame which deliver effective, reliable and sustainable results.
11.00am to 11.30am SupaWall presentation by Bryan Woodley
Presentation title: THE Most Modern Method of Construction
Bryan Woodley is a Chartered Engineer and Director of SupaWall Limited, the company that offers licensing opportunities for the SupaWall System® - one of the most advanced timber frame systems in the world. As well as having sat on various Government and industry working parties including the Sustainable Buildings Task Group, Bryan is a Member of the Buildings Standards Advisory Committee for Scotland and Chair of the Working Party for the review of standards and guidance on energy.
His presentation will focus on the very latest MMC – SupaWall, which is a unique closed panel timber frame system offering unequalled levels of thermal performance and air tightness together with the very highest environmental and sustainability credentials. SupaWall is increasingly being specified for a whole spectrum of building projects and especially by Housing Associations looking to fight fuel poverty.
11.45am to 12.15pm: UK Timber Frame Association/UKTFA presentation by Steven Streets
Presentation title: Think Fabric First - Make Sustainable Easily Attainable
Steven Streets is the Technical Manager of the UK Timber Frame Association. His role is to provide technical solutions to the industry, with the assistance and direction of the UKTFA Technical Committee. Steven is a Chartered Building Surveyor who formerly worked with the Scottish Government Building Standards Division and local authority Building Control”.
His presentation “Think Fabric First” is a nationwide initiative launched earlier in 2010 by the UKTFA. It is intended to draw attention to the basic but essential need for builders, developers and self builders to make sure the building envelope and its fabric take top priority in their considerations for achieving thermal performance, energy efficiency, sustainability and meeting ongoing regulations as we head toward zero carbon.
