As Scotland’s Housing Expo enters its last week as a public exhibition, organisers are urging visitors to support the eco-friendly ethos of the project by leaving their cars at home.
Scotland’s Housing Expo is a development of over 50 homes built to showcase leading edge house designs and building techniques that promote ‘green’ and sustainable living. The event at Milton of Leys, Inverness has been attracting upwards of 800 visitors on weekdays and in excess of 1000 visitors per day at weekends since the month long event opened on 1 August.
While a car park for the provision of over 300 spaces has been created for the Expo, marketing for the attraction has heavily encouraged visitors to help the environment by taking alternative modes of transport such as the bus.
Scotland’s Housing Expo in partnership with Stagecoach has organised an extended bus service during the event, which operates from Inverness city centre to the Expo entrance, with various stopping points along the route. Through tickets are available on all Stagecoach Inverness services and from various locations throughout Highland, Moray and Aberdeenshire including Inverness and Aberdeen Airports. Buses to the Expo operate every half hour during event opening hours and more details are available on the event website: www.scotlandshousingexpo.com.
