As Scotland’s Housing Expo enters its last week as a public exhibition, organisers are urging visitors to support the eco-friendly ethos of the project by leaving their cars at home.

NORD (Northern Office for Research and Design) was founded by Robin Lee and Alan Pert in July 2002. In 2005 the co-directors were included in the Architects Journal exhibition '40 Under 40' at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The exhibition showcased the best young practices in the UK.

As the name suggests the building is designed as an 'object like' volume made of Caithness stone. The 'Stone House' is a terrace of four family sized houses. Each house has three bedrooms and kitchen on the ground floor level orientated around a private garden. Open plan living areas are on the upper level with access
to a private terrace.
Plot 2, The Stone House, is characterised by its outer skin of 'Riven' Caithness Stone.
